Park Campground Host - Volunteer (Bunker Hills & Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Campgrounds)
About the role
The Park Campground Host volunteer position involves providing excellent guest services by assisting campers in answering questions and explaining rules. The primary responsibility includes maintaining positive, collaborative, and professional interactions with all Parks Department team members and the public.
Responsibilities
- Become familiar with local points of interest and services.
- Lightly clean the campground and keep the restroom building neat and stocked.
- Aid in directing visitors to campsites and explaining camping fees.
- Assist with camping activities, check-ins, and firewood sales.
- Monitor campground loops and perform morning and evening rounds.
- Work with visitor center attendants and park services for site tag deliveries/removals.
- Be on-call to assist campers when the campground visitor center is closed or attendants are unavailable.
- Greet new campers, introduce yourself, and explain your role.
- Work primarily during visitor center closures and when attendants are unavailable.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Own or have access to a camper.
- Available for the entire camping season, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Successfully pass a criminal background check.
