Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and permits.
- Maintenance of equipment.
- Choice of appropriate timing and treatment techniques for sewage processing.
Essential Functions
- Monitor operation of wastewater treatment facility and adjust process to ensure efficient operation.
- Check equipment to determine proper operation according to checklist.
- Adjust equipment and processes as directed.
- Collect and perform routine laboratory analyses on samples of water, sewage, incinerator samples and air emissions as required.
- Operate and monitor the incinerator.
- Maintain appropriate records of operations and maintenance performed such as daily incineration operation log and records service log.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment on a regular schedule.
- Grease and lubricate machinery and exercise valves.
- Perform housekeeping on a regular basis to maintain efficient operation of processes, including hosing floors, cleaning scum, and maintaining outside areas.
Qualifications
- Must have or be able to obtain state incineration certification within 12 months of hire.
- State certification requires a high school diploma or GED.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State Drivers License and a driving record acceptable to the City’s insurance carrier.
