Non-exempt, part-time position (15–20 hours per week) reporting to the Business Manager.
About the role
We are seeking a reliable, trustworthy Front Desk Receptionist to cover our parish office needs with minimal supervision. Weekend and occasional evening shift coverage is required.
Responsibilities
- Process checks and cash through daily operations.
- Log pledge payments into daily cash log and database(s) (e.g., Camino software).
- Follow up with parishioners, priests, and vendors on all requests.
- Create and set up schedules for facility bookings.
- Enter weekly collections into Excel spreadsheets.
- Prepare mailing certificates and letters as needed.
- Cover the front desk: answering phones, assisting visitors, sorting mail, and handling payments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including occasional Sunday coverage.
Requirements
- Bilingual: fluent in both written and verbal English and Spanish.
- Minimum one year of receptionist or similar customer service experience.
- Excellent phone presence and ability to handle multiple interruptions while maintaining focus.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain a courteous, professional manner at all times.
- Commitment to confidentiality standards.
- Ability to cooperate and work well with others.
- Proficiency in clerical/secretarial office duties.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot minor computer, copier, scanner, and related office equipment.
- Proficient with computerized and cloud-based documents, spreadsheets, and email (e.g., Google Docs, Sheets).
- Ability to learn new software programs as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Typical office environment.
- Equipment used: computer, keyboard, mouse, telephone, copier, facsimile, calculator, and paper shredder.
- Essential tasks: communicate, move, remain stationary, reach, and occasionally carry materials up to 30 lbs.
Pay
$17.00 – $17.50 per hour.
Schedule
Part-time, 15–20 hours per week, including occasional weekend and evening shifts.
