Parenting Coach - Full Time - Kalamazoo, MI

Location: Kalamazoo, MI area | Status: Full Time | Wage: $21.10/hour

About the role

• Educate and coach parents on effective parenting skills through observation, modeling, and real‑time feedback.
• Supervise parent‑child visits in homes, offices, or community settings.
• Ensure the safety of children and intervene when necessary.
• Observe and document interactions, noting strengths and areas for growth.
• Collaborate with caseworkers and provide regular updates on family progress.
• Help parents identify visitation goals and reinforce positive development.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑assessments using AAPI and NSCS tools.
• Provide transportation for children and families as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field (required).
• At least one year of experience working with families facing complex challenges.
• Strong knowledge of child development.
• Experience in school, daycare, or family support settings preferred.
• Familiarity with the Nurturing Parent Program, AAPI, or NSCS is a plus.

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Reliable, insured vehicle for local travel.
• Ability to work flexible or nontraditional hours.
