About the role

We are seeking a dedicated educator to join our team in a K-12 alternative certification program. This role supports non-traditional certification pathways for aspiring teachers, helping them meet Michigan’s certification requirements while gaining hands-on classroom experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mentorship and instructional support to candidates pursuing alternative certification.
  • Collaborate with school districts, universities, and certification programs to align training with state standards.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of professional development workshops and seminars.
  • Monitor candidate progress, evaluate performance, and provide feedback to ensure readiness for certification.
  • Serve as a liaison between candidates, school administrators, and state education agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of candidate participation, assessments, and certification status.

Requirements

  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful K-12 teaching experience.
  • Experience with alternative certification programs, mentoring, or teacher training preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Michigan’s teacher certification requirements and standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including educators, administrators, and state officials.
