Paraprofessional (S.A.I.L. Autism Program)

About the Role

Paraprofessional position in the SAIL Autism Program at Valley View Elementary School, reporting to the Building Principal. Full-time position working 8:45 am – 4:05 pm on a 175-day schedule. Start date is immediate.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current and valid Paraprofessional License
• 60 college credit hours or Work Keys Test/other ISBE requirement for obtaining Paraprofessional License
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe environment including physical intervention as needed according to protocol
• CPI training preferred or willing to train
• Work as a cooperating member of a team and effectively communicate with students, teachers, parents and administration
• Maintain positive attitude and dependability
• Willingness or experience working with young children with special needs

Pay and Benefits

• $17.50/hour starting plus benefits; additional credit provided to candidates with prior work experience
