Paraprofessional - Makerspace

Signal Hill: Makerspace Paraprofessional A vacancy exists at Signal Hill Elementary School for a paraprofessional to lead the Makerspace program. The Makerspace program focuses on hands-on, learning and inquiry-based activities with students during their lunch periods. We are seeking a flexible, motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills to lead the Makerspace program, which incorporates STEAM-based learning activities aligned to grade-level instruction. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm and creativity to create a safe and inspiring environment where students can explore, experiment, and develop problem-solving skills through hands-on activities. KEY RESPONSIBLITIES Design and deliver engaging, project-based learning experiences for students in grades K-5.Ensure a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for students.Maintain a schedule for which classes will attend Makerspace.Communicate with lunch monitors to oversee which children will visit Makerspace during their recess time.Other tasks as needed by building administration (flexibility required). Qualifications Experience working with elementary-age students in some capacity.Strong organizational and communication skills.A passion for hands-on learning.
