About the role

To assist the teacher in matters essential to the efficient and effective operation of the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Aid in meeting and instructing assigned classes in the designated location and times.
• Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the resource limits of the district.
• Prepare for classes assigned.
• Use a variety of instructional techniques and media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
• Aid in maximizing instructional time.
• Help students take responsibility for their behavior and learning.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Possess and maintain a valid Paraprofessional Certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC).
