Baker School District is seeking a Paraprofessional I for Baker High School for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is 9 hours per day, 36 hours per week, operating on a 4-day work week (Monday–Thursday). Start date: August 24, 2026.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Completed two years of post-secondary education study (72 quarter hours or 48 semester hours), or
- Obtained an Associate's degree, or
- Passed a fee-based ($55) paraprofessional assessment (options available if the test needs to be completed).

- Ability to work effectively as a team member in finding solutions to problems.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with employees and administrators in a positive, productive manner.
- Ability to maintain harmonious relationships with students.
Responsibilities
- Work under the direct supervision of certified teachers and/or licensed specialists, following instructional plans in group or one-on-one settings.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a positive environment that promotes optimum learning and student/staff safety.
- Utilize positive behavior management strategies to ensure student safety, dignity, and responsibility.
- Assist students with independent or group study, remedial drill work, and computer assistance using varied strategies respecting individual learning styles.
- Support teachers in testing and evaluation of individual students.
- Supervise students in all school areas and other educational settings as directed.
- Request, gather, prepare, and store materials for teachers and students.
- Perform clerical duties, maintain accurate records, and operate office machines as needed.
- Perform tasks assigned and trained by occupational/physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other providers.
- Participate in in-service and professional development programs when requested.
- Maintain confidentiality in all areas.
- Comply with all district, state, and federal policies and laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher and/or principal.
Pay
Salary range: $19.14 – $24.45 per hour for the 2026-2027 school year. Placement on the salary schedule is based on educational background and experience, in accordance with the BSD 5J/OSEA collective bargaining agreement.
