Paraprofessional for the High School - Transition House

About the Role

This is a full-time paraprofessional position supporting students with diverse learning needs. The role involves assisting with instructional activities, behavioral management, and the use of adaptive equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional activities under the direction of certified staff
• Assist with behavioral management and implement age-appropriate techniques
• Operate and maintain adaptive equipment such as electric wheelchairs, dynavox devices, braces, and lifts

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of a criminal background check prior to hire

Preferred Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certifications (may be required at hire)
• Knowledge of child development and behavioral management strategies
• Experience with adaptive equipment and instructional techniques for diverse learners

Pay

$21.00 - $24.02 per hour, based on education and experience according to the classified salary schedule.

Schedule

7.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday (182 days per year).
