About the role

ParaProfessional- ESE (Exceptional Student Education) position supporting students with disabilities in the classroom, assisting teachers with instructional and behavioral needs, and completing required training in verbal de‑escalation and CPI.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• For Grade 18 (Paraprofessional I): minimum of 60 semester hours from an accredited institution with at least 30 semester hours in general education core curriculum and/or child development and education, OR successful completion of the ParaPro test with a score of 457 or higher.
• For Grade 19 (Paraprofessional II): associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution required.
• Experience working with children with disabilities.
• Satisfactory completion of Verbal De‑Escalation training required within 90 days of appointment and maintained annually.
• For separate class placement and 1:1 positions: satisfactory completion of CPI training required within 90 days of appointment and maintained annually.
• Valid State Driver’s license required.

Pay

Starting salary based on classification and pay plan for Classified employees: Grade 18 – $16.68 per hour (HS Diploma and ParaPro minimum score 457 or 60 hrs college credit in core curriculum); Grade 19 – $17.06 per hour (AA/AS or higher).

Schedule

9‑month contract, 6.5 hours per day.
