About the role
LADACIN Network (Lifetime Assistance for Developmental and Challenging Individual Needs) has been serving individuals with developmental and physical disabilities for more than 75 years. As a nonprofit agency, our mission is to provide a continuum of care including educational, therapeutic, social, residential, and support services to infants, children, and adults with complex physical and developmental disabilities or delays. This position is based at the Schroth School in Ocean Township, New Jersey.
The Schroth School is currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Paraprofessionals to work with students with developmental and multiple physical disabilities in a school setting. This is a full-time, 12-month position, Monday through Friday. Paraprofessionals work closely with our transdisciplinary team of teachers, therapists, nurses, and support staff to help students achieve their educational, behavioral, social, and daily living goals.
Responsibilities
- Assist students with educational activities and classroom participation
- Support implementation of individualized educational and behavioral goals
- Assist students with personal care and daily living skills as needed
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, nurses, and other school staff
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and professional learning environment
- Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning, and physical support of students
- Participate in school meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
- Follow all LADACIN policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements
- Cooperate fully with all licensing, accrediting, and funding source requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a transdisciplinary environment
- Ability to perform physical job responsibilities as required
