About the role

Damar is a mission-driven organization providing behavioral health and I/DD services since 1967. The Behavior Support role involves working one-on-one with students, fostering their growth academically, socially, and behaviorally.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support and supervision for your assigned student.
• Avoid and manage crises when necessary.
• Encourage positive social interactions and appropriate behaviors.
• Support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Help students reach their full potential in a safe, supportive learning environment.

Requirements

• At least 21 years old to work in the Children's Residential program.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Clear of felony convictions and substantiated charges of neglect.
• Successfully complete a pre-employment physical.

Qualifications

• Pass a background screening.

Skills

• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to manage crisis situations.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques.
• Experience with verbal and physical interventions.
