About the role

Supports the educational, behavioral, social-emotional, physical and daily living needs of secondary students with disabilities in integrated, resource, self-contained, and community settings.

What DPS Offers

  • Salary Range: New hires will be set at $22.824 per hour. The salary range for internal candidates is $22.824 to $27.275 per hour.

What You'll Do

  • Provides services to one or more individual students as outlined in their Individual Education Plan (IEP), including supporting academic, health, daily living, and behavioral needs.
  • Maintains classroom activities, assignments, and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives and meeting learning goals.
  • Provides daily living procedures such as toileting, diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene as trained.
  • Supports implementation of students’ individual behavior intervention plans, crisis plans, and health care plans.
  • Implements student accommodations and modifications as outlined in their individual IEP in both academic and nonacademic settings throughout the school day.
  • Collaborates with students and parents about routine educational issues at the direction of the supervising special education teacher.

What You’ll Need

  • Specialized training in invasive procedures, such as tube feeding and catheterization will be provided, as assignment requires.
  • Must pass District approved written and physical exams covering de-escalation and physical restraint training, on an annual basis.
  • To transport students or use personal or company vehicle, must have a valid Colorado driver’s license or be able to obtain one within the state's required time frame for new residents and meet the District’s insurability requirements.
