About the role
Serves the educational, behavioral, social-emotional, physical, and daily living needs of elementary students with disabilities in various settings.
Responsibilities
- Supports academic, health, daily living, and behavioral needs as outlined in Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Maintains classroom activities, assignments, and materials under the direction of the supervising teacher.
- Provides daily living procedures such as toileting, diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene.
- Lifts and transports students using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Supports the implementation of behavior intervention plans, crisis plans, and health care plans.
- Implements student accommodations and modifications as outlined in their IEPs.
- Collects data on students' IEP goals under the supervision of a special education teacher.
- Communicates and coordinates with students and parents regarding routine educational issues.
Requirements
- Must pass District-approved written and physical exams covering de-escalation and physical restraint training annually.
- Must have specialized training in invasive procedures, such as tube feeding and catheterization.
- Must have a valid Colorado driver's license or be able to obtain one within the required timeframe.

Pay
New hires will be set at $22.824 per hour. The salary range for internal candidates is $22.824 to $27.275 per hour. For detailed compensation information, view the Para Salary Schedule.
