PARAPROFESSIONAL, 1:1 SECONDARY SPECIAL EDUCATION - MULTI-INTENSIVE AUTISM, 6TH GRADE
About the role
Serves the educational, behavioral, social-emotional, physical, and daily living needs of secondary students with disabilities in various settings.
Responsibilities
- Supports academic, health, daily living, and behavioral needs as outlined in Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Maintains classroom activities, assignments, and materials under the direction of supervising teachers.
- Provides daily living procedures such as toileting, diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene.
- Administers medically invasive procedures following universal precautions and as directed.
- Lifts and transports students using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Enforces and implements behavior intervention plans, crisis plans, and health care plans.
- Collects data on students' Individual Education Program (IEP) goals under the supervision of special education teachers.
- Communicates with students and parents regarding routine educational matters.
Requirements
- Specialized training in invasive procedures, such as tube feeding and catheterization.
- Pass District-approved written and physical exams covering de-escalation and physical restraint training annually.
- Valid Colorado driver's license or ability to obtain one within the required timeframe.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.

Pay
New hires will be set at $22.824 per hour. The salary range for internal candidates is $22.824 to $27.275 per hour. For detailed compensation information, view the Para Salary Schedule. The salary listed reflects the 2025–2026 school year. Salaries for the 2026–2027 school year are typically finalized and released mid-summer, with an effective date of August 1. If any updates or adjustments are made once the new salary schedule is finalized, all impacted individuals will receive the updated salary.
