Position Overview

The Paraplanner serves as a key technical partner to the advisory team, supporting financial planning, investment management, portfolio analysis, and client relationship management. This individual will help prepare financial plans, develop investment recommendations, monitor client portfolios, and ensure a seamless client experience throughout the planning process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare preliminary financial planning recommendations for advisor review.
  • Gather and organize client financial information to support comprehensive planning.
  • Develop customized investment and portfolio recommendations aligned with client goals, risk tolerance, and time horizon.
  • Prepare financial planning reports, presentations, charts, and other client meeting materials.
  • Assist with deep-dive planning sessions and investment implementation.
  • Monitor client portfolios and identify allocation adjustments as appropriate.
  • Complete Managed Account Annual Reviews (MAARs) alongside advisors or third-party providers.
  • Execute approved trades, transfers, cash movements, and account maintenance activities.
  • Aid advisors in preparing for client meetings and following up on action items.
  • Communicate professionally with clients by phone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Respond promptly to client questions while providing exceptional service.
  • Troubleshoot client issues and coordinate solutions between clients and advisors.
  • Update client information and prepare meeting materials for ongoing reviews.
  • Attend client meetings as needed to support advisors and planning discussions.
  • Carefully coordinate planning projects and ensure timely completion of client deliverables.
  • Support practice management initiatives, client events, seminars, and other operational projects.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the continued growth of the practice.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in financial planning, investment management, or a related financial services role.
  • Working knowledge of portfolio management, investment principles, and comprehensive financial planning.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive, service-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial planning, CRM, and investment management software.

Licensing Requirements

  • Current securities licensing is preferred; however, candidates who are not currently licensed must be willing and able to obtain the following:
  • FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE®)
  • Series 7
  • Series 63/65 or Series 66
  • State Life & Health Insurance License

Compensation & Benefits

  • $38.00–$46.00/hour (Non-Exempt)
