About the role
Pisgah Church Urgent Care is seeking a Paramedic to join our Emergency Medicine–managed urgent care team. We provide care for patients of all ages, with a strong focus on pediatric expertise. We aim to bridge the gap between primary care and the emergency department, offering high-quality, efficient care to help reduce unnecessary emergency department utilization.
Responsibilities
- Rapidly evaluate life-threatening emergencies
- Implement prescribed therapies within scope of practice
- Collaborate with nursing and medical teams to establish treatment goals
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment
- Communicate effectively to promote information sharing throughout the continuum of care
- Participate in shared governance and adhere to standards of care
- Act as a patient advocate
- Initiate actions to improve patient outcomes
- Perform and maintain competency for point of care testing
- Document all medication and treatment in the Electronic Medical Record
- Provide and document patient reassessments in the Electronic Medical Record
- Support optimal patient flow through the Emergency Department
- Ensure the safety and security of all patients
Requirements
- Paramedic certification from an accredited certified paramedic program, or an Associate's of Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree in Paramedic studies or equivalent
- Three years of Emergency Service experience preferred
- LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR REGISTRATION: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Applicable state-OEMS certification as EMT-P, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Maintains certification through affiliation with approved applicable state-OEMS education provider

- Ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to evaluate and appropriately respond to verbal and nonverbal communication from patients in diverse stages of development
- Builds/establishes rapport with Hospital personnel, providers, patients, and visitors
- Communicates clearly, concisely, and professionally via telephone and other automation devices
- Lifts and positions patients of all weights and heights using assistive devices and/or personnel as appropriate
- Computer skills for electronic documentation of all patient care provided
- Performs duties in accordance with applicable state and federal laws, local ordinances, established policies, procedures, and protocols

Pay
$24.10 - $36.15 per hour
Schedule
7am-7pm M-F, 8am-6pm on Saturday and Sunday; Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day
