About the Role
The Paramedic Clinical Coordinator/Instructor is responsible for the effective coordination and instruction of clinical and field experiences for EMT and Paramedic students. This role involves the development, management, and evaluation of clinical sites, as well as ensuring that students meet program requirements. The Clinical Coordinator/Instructor also teaches courses in the EMT/Paramedic program, provides academic advising, and collaborates with faculty and healthcare partners to enhance student learning and success.
Requirements
- Graduate of a regionally accredited post-secondary institution with, at a minimum, an Associate's Degree.
- Currently credentialed as a nationally registered paramedic and licensed in Mississippi with no restrictions.
- Additional certifications in CPR for Healthcare Providers, ACLS, and PHTLS.
- Knowledgeable in instruction and testing of paramedic students.
- Proactive in scheduling clinical rotations for learning outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Teaches courses in accordance with the schedule of classes and follows the approved course descriptions and syllabi established by the department faculty, state, and national EMS education standards, and administered by the Director of Emergency Medical Technology.
- Establishes and maintains good relationships with clinical affiliates and preceptors.
- Keeps abreast of current trends in the field to ensure methods and techniques are relevant.
