Responsibilities
- Obtain vital signs and collect patient data, documenting accurately in EMR and company applications
- Facilitate physical exams using mobile technology
- Perform diagnostic tests and treatments as directed by the virtual provider and permitted by state law, including blood draws, EKGs, splinting, and basic wound care
- Specific duties may vary depending on state and local scope-of-practice regulations
- Perform indicated point-of-care lab testing
- Provide discharge instructions as directed by the provider
- Communicate with physicians and APPs via secure messaging and video using a company-provided mobile device
- Adhere to all medical protocols, guidelines, and legal regulations
- Maintain, clean, and restock equipment at the end of each shift
- Support visit completion and operational readiness through additional assigned duties
- Drive a DispatchHealth-branded vehicle to patient homes and manage daily supplies and equipment
- Don and doff PPE appropriately and maintain strict infection-prevention practices
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Active Paramedic (EMT-P) certification
- Minimum 1 year of patient-facing clinical experience
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong customer service, communication, and technology skills
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a care team
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical and work requirements: Ability to drive and sit in a vehicle for extended periods (day and night), climb up to three flights of stairs while carrying equipment, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs, perform patient care in non-traditional or confined spaces, visual and auditory ability to perform point-of-care testing and patient assessment
