Responsibilities
- Act as the primary director of care in emergency and non-emergency situations by providing efficient and immediate care for patients
- Examine, evaluate, and provide quick diagnoses to administer immediate and proper medical care
- Provide basic medical support including CPR, AED, ventilation, and controlling hemorrhaging
- Perform more invasive techniques to stabilize the patient’s condition
- Document all aspects of care provided under their direction by EMS services
- Operate the ambulance in various road conditions to safely transport patients to medical facilities
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Previous EMT experience (preferred)
- Must be 18 years of age
- Ability to calmly and efficiently perform and make appropriate decisions rapidly under stress in emergency situations
- Ability to work outdoors
- Ability to follow instructions
- Familiarity with age-specific needs for the patient population served
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Current Missouri licensure as E.M.T.-P (required)
- For-hire driver’s license (Class E) or greater (CDL) for operation of an ambulance in the state of residence (required)
