Responsibilities

• Act as the primary director of care in emergency and non-emergency situations by providing efficient and immediate care for patients
• Examine, evaluate, and provide quick diagnoses to administer immediate and proper medical care
• Provide basic medical support including CPR, AED, ventilation, and controlling hemorrhaging
• Perform more invasive techniques to stabilize the patient’s condition
• Document all aspects of care provided under their direction by EMS services
• Operate the ambulance in various road conditions to safely transport patients to medical facilities

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Previous EMT experience (preferred)
• Must be 18 years of age
• Ability to calmly and efficiently perform and make appropriate decisions rapidly under stress in emergency situations
• Ability to work outdoors
• Ability to follow instructions
• Familiarity with age-specific needs for the patient population served

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Current Missouri licensure as E.M.T.-P (required)
• For-hire driver’s license (Class E) or greater (CDL) for operation of an ambulance in the state of residence (required)
