Paramedic -Full Time-Springfield

About the role

Under the direction of the Medical Director and according to the protocols, procedures and policies of Mercy EMS performs direct patient care including assessment, evaluation, basic and advanced medical rescue to access, stabilize, evacuate and transport a patient to an appropriate destination according to the goals of Mercy System, the philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, Standard of Care and Employee Code of Conduct. Paramedics also perform clerical, maintenance duties. Performs related duties as assigned.

Position Details

• Full-time position at Mercy Springfield
• 42 hours per week
• Sign-on bonus available (restrictions apply)

Requirements

• Licensure: Paramedic (EMT-P) license for the state of practice; valid driver's license
• Age: At least 19 years old
• Certifications: Hazmat awareness level training; ACLS at hire; PALS within 6 months of hire/transfer
• Physical and sensory abilities:
  • Unimpaired mobility: able to respond quickly to ambulance, access patients in difficult terrain, climb stairs, work in close/dangerous environments (e.g., damaged vehicles), partner to carry equipment and patients
  • Strenuous physical requirements: CPR, lifting and moving equipment and patients in varied environmental conditions
  • Required medical skills and techniques
  • Vision: correctable for day/night emergency vehicle operation; color acuity for skin/blood color determination
