Paramedic - Full Time- Mercy Cassville

About the Role

Under the direction of the Medical Director and according to the protocols, procedures, and policies of Mercy EMS, performs direct patient care including assessment, evaluation, basic and advanced medical rescue to access, stabilize, evacuate, and transport patients to an appropriate destination. Paramedics also perform clerical and maintenance duties, along with related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Operates an emergency vehicle, responding to emergency and non-emergency scenes and transporting patients to appropriate destinations.
• Ensures that the assigned ambulance and items of equipment are stocked, clean, maintained, and ready to use.
• Assesses patients to promote optimal levels of wellness throughout pre-hospital care and implements patient care to assure comprehensive holistic care.
• Demonstrates proficiency in pre-hospital basic and advanced life support skills.
• Demonstrates appropriate radio communications including fluency, organization, and accuracy.

Requirements

• Paramedic (EMT-P) license for the state where employed.
• Valid driver's license.
• At least 19 years of age to operate Mercy EMS vehicles.
• Hazmat awareness level training.
• ACLS certification at hire; PALS certification within 6 months of hire/transfer.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
