Paramedic Full-Time, Day Shift
About the role
Provides emergency care in the pre-hospital environment. Provides advanced-level medical care including evaluation, treatment and stabilization to the ill and injured. Has a comprehensive knowledge base and is able to diagnose and provide care for a broad range of medical emergencies. Responds to calls for emergency medical assistance, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or bandaging a wound. Assesses a patient's condition and determine a course of treatment. Provides first-aid treatment or life support care to sick or injured patients according to acceptable medical practice standards.
Responsibilities
- Provides individualized care plan for patient presentation according to acceptable medical practice standards, issued standing orders, on-line medical control and department policies and procedures.
- Provides emergency care in the pre-hospital environment.
- Provides fundamental components of patient comfort, safety, privacy and respect within the perioperative setting.
- Identifies and develops areas of expertise within the surgical specialties.
- Conducts emergency medical classes as requested by department manager.
- Administers oral and intravenous medications.
- Intubates patients or performs surgical airway insertion (cricothyrotomy), and place catheters for venous access such as central venous lines.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred Three years' full time experience in a 911 system: Preferred
- Licenses/Certifications: Paramedic license in state of practice: Required Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association: Required AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification: Required Emergency Vehicle Operator Certification (EVOC) or equivalent: Preferred Valid Driver’s License (DL) and must be at least 21 yrs of age or older: Required Facility Specific License/Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS): Required
Qualifications

Skills

Pay
The estimated base pay for this position is $25.89 to $33.78. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
