Responsibilities
- Responds to calls in a timely manner.
- Aids and supports public safety personnel and other healthcare providers in patient care.
- Performs assessments and utilizes critical thinking to identify and prioritize medical procedures.
- Communicates effectively with patients, parents, and caregivers, adapting care to meet diverse needs.
- Completes thorough physical examinations and updates medical control physicians with pertinent information.
- Maintains vehicle and equipment in a clean and functional state, ensuring safety during transport.
- Operates communication devices professionally and cooperates with the Quality Assurance program.
- Documents patient care reports accurately and completes daily operational tasks.
- Ensures proper handling and disposal of medical waste and maintains supply levels.
- Provides education and serves as a preceptor or Field Training Officer as needed.
- Behaves professionally and maintains HMH's Code of Conduct and Standards of Behavior.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Introduction to Incident Command System (ICS-100) or higher.
- Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (Paramedic) Certification.
- BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (HCP) Certification or BLS Instructor Trainer.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification or ACLS Instructor Certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification or PALS Instructor Certification.
- Valid Driver's License from a USA state.
- Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator within 90 days of employment.
- International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) Certification or Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Certification within 6 months of employment.
- Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Certification or Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) Certification within 6 months of employment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
