Paramedic - Full Time

About the role

The Paramedic at Hackensack Meridian Health provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) services, ensuring timely and professional care for patients across various settings. This role requires flexibility and the ability to work in challenging conditions.

Responsibilities

• Responds to calls in a timely manner and supports public safety personnel.
• Affirms patient conditions and prioritizes medical procedures based on assessments.
• Communicates with patients, parents, and caregivers to understand their needs and deliver tailored care.
• Completes thorough physical examinations and updates medical control physicians with pertinent information.
• Maintains vehicle safety, cleanliness, and proper documentation.
• Operates communication devices professionally and documents all interactions.
• Participates in quality assurance programs and completes patient care reports promptly.
• Maintains equipment and supplies, reports malfunctions, and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Provides education to students and serves as a preceptor and field training officer.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Introduction to Incident Command System (ICS) certifications.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (Paramedic).
• BLS AHA certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• EMS operator certification within 90 days.
• Additional certifications as required.

Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms.

Pay

Base compensation is determined based on market data, years of experience, education, certifications, and other non-discriminatory factors. Starting rate is $39.97 per hour, which may differ from the posted rate based on these factors.
