Paramedic - Emergency Medical Services (24 Hours)

The Paramedic

The Annualized Potential Starting Earnings of this position are $75,000.

Responsibilities

• Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) patient care
• Provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) patient care
• Transport patients using ambulance

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of related experience
• Working knowledge of standard practices and procedures

Licenses and Certifications

• American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS Certification
• Georgia Paramedic License required

Qualifications

• Knowledge of emergency clinical practices and protocol
• Knowledge of use of medical and related emergency equipment
• Knowledge of local geography

• Ability to act calmly and quickly in emergencies
• Ability to work independently as part of a team, sometimes alongside emergency fire and police units
• Ability to create and maintain a positive and cooperative working environment in stressful situations
• Ability to work during odd hours and for extended periods, sometimes outdoors and in adverse weather conditions
• Ability to work with much standing, bending and kneeling
• Ability to work with a partner in lifting patients whose weight occasionally exceeds 200 pounds
• Ability to avoid or minimize health risks from exposure to ill patients

Technical Skills

• Exercising judgment, dexterity, and physical coordination
• Preparing clear and concise reports
• Driving emergency vehicles

License and Certifications

• Valid driver's license

Additional Information

• Must have a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a motor vehicle record (MVR) check and meeting insurability requirements
