How you’ll make an impact in this role
The Ascension St. Vincent Critical Care Transport (CCT) team offers safe, quality, evidence-based, ICU-level transport for adult, neonatal, pediatric, and maternal fetal patients using industry-leading equipment. You will gain in-house education (PHTLS, AMLS, ACLS, PALS, BLS, EVOC, Audit and Review, NRP) on a rolling calendar, allowing affiliated EMTs and Paramedics to use in-house Medical Directors for re-certification.
You will collaborate with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse to identify, intervene, and stabilize patients during interfacility and intrafacility transfers. You will monitor, accurately record, and communicate the patient's condition and treatment administered. You will report observations and follow directives from receiving medical personnel upon arrival. You will ensure the safety of the transport team, patient by inspecting, maintaining, and caring for all equipment.
Minimum Requirements
- Licensure / Certification / Registration: Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Emergency Medical Tech specializing in ER Vehicle Operation credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. EmergencyVehicle Operator Course (EVOC), or Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) credentialed from Coaching Systems required.
- Paramedic credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Certified Prehospital Trauma Life Spprt obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
- One or more of the following required: Paramedic specializing in Critical Care credentialed from the International Board of Specialty Certification obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date. Certified Paramedic specializing in Flight obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date. Flight Paramedic Certification (FP-C)
- Education: High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degreerequired.
- Work Experience: Minimum Qualification: Three years of experience in Emergency Medical Services. Preferred Qualification: Five years of experience in Emergency Medical Services.
