Essential Responsibilities
- Drives emergency or response vehicle.
- Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to the critically ill and injured during treatment and transport in the prehospital setting.
- Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards.
- Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- For Prehospital Response Unit: 5 years’ relevant experience and current preceptor status
- Medical Command eligible
- PA Paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the Paramedic level or licensed PHRN
- Preferred: Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Haz-Mat Technician. ICS 100, 200 and IS 700, 800, ABLS and ASLS
- One year experience (AHN EMS)
