Paramedic – Behavioral Health
Role Overview
Responsible for providing high quality direct medical triage support and services in health-related aspects of care for clients under the direction of a Medical Director. This position will assist in coordinating medical care and intervention with other team members and providers.
Essential Duties
- Deliver high-quality patient care by providing prescribed medical treatment, providing physical assessments, developing plans of care, and implementing medical support services.
- Administer medication and treatments as prescribed.
- Evaluate, assess, monitor, and record patient symptoms and changes in their conditions.
- Cookout, consult, and problem solve medical care and intervention with Interdisciplinary team members and providers.
- Consistently and independently follow established safety procedures.
- Report any medical or medication errors by end of shift.
- Maintain updated knowledge of professional licensure and medications procedures, healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices, by actively participating in professional and educational development.
- Participate in staff meetings and inter-agency meetings as required.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance improvement projects.
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or completion of G.E.D. required.
- A Colorado EMT-Paramedic Certification required.
- A Basic Life Support Certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Experience providing care for behavioral health patients.
- Experience in documentation in relation to clinical care and billing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing care for behavioral health patients preferred.
- Experience in documentation in relation to clinical care and billing preferred.
- An associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- More than three years of experience working as a community paramedic preferred.
- Experience in coordinating mental health intervention plans and services with other agencies preferred.
- Bilingual/bi-cultural preferred.

Hours
36 per week, 12-hour shifts
Shift Differentials
Available for evenings, nights ($7 per hour), weekends and holidays.
Salary Range
$24.04 - $33.66 per hour, based on relevant years of experience
