Responsibilities

  • Provides Advanced Life Support in a prompt, resourceful, and efficient manner.
  • Maintains compliance with Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) requirements and all associated documentation.
  • Demonstrates age-specific competencies in the care of infants, toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
  • Operates under the direction of the Metro Life Flight Medical Director and follows MHS protocols.
  • Complies with MHS policies and procedures.
  • Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of the MetroHealth System.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or high school equivalency exam completion.
  • Current Ohio certification as an EMT-Paramedic.
  • Successfully completed the Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) or complete within 3 months of hire.
  • Current and valid Ohio Driver’s License and eligibility for insurability as determined by MetroHealth System insurance carrier’s requirements.
  • Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the AHA, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Life Support (PALS).
  • Achieves a score equal to or greater than 70% in the clinical knowledge testing portion of the interview process.
  • Completes the Intermediate EKG test during the interview process.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to speak assertively and sensitively to various populations in stressful situations.
  • Effective interaction with diverse cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred qualifications

  • One year of experience as an active paramedic in an EMS service or hospital ED.
  • Emergency room experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center.

Pay

Biweekly Hours: 72.00

Schedule

Shift: Day/Eve rotation, rotating weekends and holidays
