Program Information

The Emergency Medical Services education program is now located in the newly expanded Public Safety Institute at MCC-Blue River. Fall cohort classes are held Monday/Wednesday. Spring cohort classes are held Tuesday/Thursday.

    • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT): One semester entry into the field, EMT-Basic course offered every semester.
    • Paramedic Certificate: Four-semester program preparing for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians examination process.
    • Paramedic Degree: Two-year program providing an associate degree and preparing for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians examination process.

Program Mission

To prepare competent entry-level paramedics in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills) and affective (behavior) learning domains with or without exit points at the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and/or Emergency Medical Technician, and/or Emergency Medical Responder levels.
