Responsibilities

• Performing substantive research, evaluation and analysis of specialized legal topics and points of law.
• Organizing and preparing research material, determining pertinent information, reconciling conflicting facts, identifying and gathering additional information and making sound interpretations.
• Drafting initial and administrative briefs, motions, oppositions to defense motions and correspondence for review.
• Obtaining and analyzing financial information on debtors to determine their present and future potential ability to pay.
• Drafting and assisting in the preparation of requests for discovery.
• Organizing data and developing trial exhibits such as statistical charts, graphs and timelines to be presented in court as corroborative and summary evidence.

Qualifications

• GS-9: To be eligible at the GS-9 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below:
  • Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level.
  • Education: One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Law).
• GS-11: To be eligible at the GS-11 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below:
  • Specialized Experience: At least one year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level.
  • Education: A LL.M; a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
