About the role

Stange Law Firm, PC is seeking a Full-Time Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or Legal Secretary to join our Oklahoma City, Oklahoma office. We are a multi-state family law firm dedicated exclusively to domestic relations matters.

Responsibilities

  • Professionally greet clients and visitors.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and accurately relay messages.
  • Schedule appointments and assist with client communications.
  • Cook up with courts, opposing counsel, and third parties.
  • Help ensure every client receives exceptional service throughout their case.
  • Prepare, draft, and proofread pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare documents for filing with courts and other agencies.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical client files.
  • Cook up with hearings, deadlines, meetings, and appointments.
  • Aid attorneys with discovery, trial preparation, and other litigation support.
  • Perform electronic filing with courts.
  • Organize files and legal documents.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Scan, copy, and distribute documents.
  • Perform general administrative duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
  • Enter billable time into the firm's timekeeping software on the same day work is performed.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and the firm's case management software.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, legal secretary, or in a law firm is preferred, but not required.
  • We are willing to hire individuals with a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, professionalism, and a strong desire to build a successful career in the legal profession.
  • Familial law or litigation experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • The ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new technology and software.
  • A positive attitude, professionalism, dependability, and outstanding customer service skills.
  • The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working in a law firm setting.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
