Our client, an established and growing law firm in the Milwaukee area, is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join its team. This is a full-time, in-office position in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin supporting attorneys in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and paralegal support to attorneys throughout the case lifecycle
  • Prepare, draft, format, and file legal documents, pleadings, correspondence, and other materials
  • Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, hearings, appointments, and case-related events
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other legal professionals
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files
  • Assist with discovery, document production, and exhibit preparation
  • Obtain, review, and organize financial and other case-related records
  • Coordinate meetings, depositions, hearings, and other case events
  • Assist attorneys with case preparation from initial client intake through resolution
  • Perform additional legal and administrative duties as needed

Requirements

  • Prior law firm or legal experience required
  • Family law experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple matters, deadlines, and competing priorities
  • Comfortable communicating directly with clients in a professional manner
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new legal software and technology
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Pay

Salary: $60,000-$75,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience
