Join a well-established boutique litigation firm in Tampa, specializing in intellectual property and trademark law. This is an on-site position based in Tampa, FL.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our IP/Trademark team. The firm represents major trademark owners in managing their trademark portfolios, handling copyright and trademark registration, policing, and related disputes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial preparation.
  • Prepare, proofread, revise, and file legal documents in state and federal courts.
  • Maintain litigation calendars and track court deadlines, hearings, and case milestones.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files as needed.
  • Coordinate document production, exhibits, and attorney materials for hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Assist with trademark searches, applications, filings, renewals, and portfolio management.
  • Monitor and track trademark deadlines and USPTO correspondence.
  • Prepare and maintain trademark and copyright records and databases.
  • Coordinate with clients regarding trademark prosecution and maintenance activities.
  • Assist with cease-and-desist matters, enforcement efforts, and intellectual property litigation support.

Requirements

  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related area is preferred with at least 2 to 4 years of paralegal experience in a similar role; OR a Paralegal Certificate with 5+ years of experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience supporting intellectual property, trademark, media, or commercial litigation practices.
  • Familiarity with USPTO procedures and trademark portfolio management.
  • Experience with state and federal court e-filing systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience in NextPoint or Filevine is a plus.

Pay

Base salary range: $75,000 - $90,000 per year (based on experience).
