About the role
A top Insurance Defense firm in New Orleans is hiring 2 Paralegals, ideally with Insurance Defense experience from a high volume law firm. This role sits within a dynamic legal department, providing comprehensive support to attorneys in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation support, a deep understanding of the insurance industry, and a passion for detail-oriented work.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis on various insurance defense matters.
- Review and summarize medical records, depositions, and other case-related documents.
- Coordinate and manage timelines for various cases, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Organize and maintain case files, including managing electronic databases and physical records.
- Assist with trial preparation, including the creation of exhibits, witness preparation, and coordination of logistics.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts as necessary.
- Provide administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and drafting correspondence.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably within a high volume insurance defense setting.
- A Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent legal studies (nice to have).
- Extensive experience in litigation support, including a thorough understanding of the litigation process and legal terminology.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and databases, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff, clients, and court personnel.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with legal case management software is a plus.

Pay
