Responsibilities
- Aid attorneys and review case material, preparing digest of selected decisions/opinions with legal references.
- Search for and summarize relevant articles from trade magazines, law reviews, financial reports, and similar sources for attorneys.
- Prepare digests of selected decisions or opinions that incorporate legal references and analyses of precedents.
- Interview potential witnesses and prepare summary interview reports for attorney review.
- Participate in pre-trial witness conferences, identify possible deficiencies in case materials, and request further investigating by other agency personnel.
- Organize trial exhibits, such as statistical charts and photographic exhibits.
- Verify citations and legal references on prepared legal documents.
- Summarize testimony and depositions.
- Draft/edits non-legal memoranda, research reports, and correspondence related to cases.
Requirements
- Paralegal Certificate or High School Diploma/GED with at least three years' paralegal experience.
- At least 2 years of experience.
- Automated litigation support experience helpful.
- Basic paralegal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation system sufficient for legal research.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools.
- Hands-on familiarity with various computer applications, including word processing, database, spreadsheet, and telecommunications.
- Ability to consistently deliver high-quality work under extreme pressure.
- U.S. Citizenship and a 7 (or 10) year minimum background investigation required.
Qualifications
