Paralegal - Employment Wage & Hour Class Action (Los Angeles)

About the role

The Employment Wage & Hour Class Action department at Wilshire Law Firm is dedicated to supporting attorneys and partners in handling complex litigation. This role involves managing a high volume of cases and requires strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare correspondence, letters, pleadings and all forms of discovery
• Proofread and edit legal documents for accuracy and clarity
• Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
• Maintain case files on the Firm’s document and case management system
• Aid in preparing for hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations and trials
• Manage case/calendars/projects and communicate with clients
• Provide administrative support to the legal team

Requirements

• 3+ years of Paralegal experience in Labor and Employment and Wage & Hour
• Well versed in e-filing in State, Federal courts (Appellate a plus)
• Experience propounding/responding to discovery, calendaring hearings and court deadlines, and assisting with mediation/arbitration/trial preparation
• Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels across the Firm
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while providing leadership and guidance to paralegals, legal assistants and clerks
• Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
• Proficient in conducting legal research using Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw or similar platforms
• Experience using Litify or similar case/document management systems
• Spanish fluency and proficiency with Microsoft 365 strongly preferred

Pay

$35.00 - $57.70 per hour depending on experience.
