Candidates must have good, effective communication skills, be self‑motivated with the ability to multi‑task, make routine decisions, organize workflow and establish priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, agreements, and correspondence.
• Obtain, review, and process court documents and maintain files and docket systems.
• Compile data as requested by the Board’s attorney or executive director.
• Perform legal research and prepare memoranda stating facts and conclusions of research.
• Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings.
• Prepare disciplinary orders.
• Compose correspondence involving the interpretation of agency rules, regulations, and program responsibility.
• Maintain a filing system and prepare records for digital imaging.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree in paralegal studies or a closely related field, or five or more years of experience in a legal environment.
• One‑to‑three years of experience in a legal environment, preferably reviewing official documents such as claims, applications, or legal documentation, plus a paralegal certification.
• Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university in business or public administration may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis for the required experience.
• Knowledge of computer applications such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Pay

Base Salary: $46,446. The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the selected candidate is eligible for a years‑of‑service pay differential, it will be added to the total compensation. A pay differential does not raise the base pay.
