About the role

As a Silvi Materials Paralegal, you will tap into a broad range of legal issues, including corporate transactional work, employment & labor law, regulatory compliance, and litigation management. As a member of an in-house corporate legal team, your contributions will impact all aspects of the way we do business, from vendor relationships to merger & acquisition work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorney in all aspects of corporate transactions, including drafting and reviewing contracts, conducting due diligence, and managing closing processes.
  • Conduct research and analysis of legal issues related to corporate law, labor & employment law, and business transactions.
  • Gather and preserve data, documents, and information to drive the legal department's responses to discovery requests and subpoenas.
  • Interface with outside counsel in ongoing litigation and corporate transactions to ensure Silvi is providing requested documents and support.
  • Maintain corporate records and manage document databases.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance, including preparing and filing regulatory reports.
  • Draft and review legal correspondence, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Provide administrative support to the corporate counsel, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and maintaining electronic and paper filing systems.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Paralegal studies, or related field preferred. Certification in Paralegal studies preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a corporate legal department.
  • Experience with LexisNexis or similar research platform required.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, be detail-oriented and have the ability to prioritize and manage workload.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Expert proofreading, writing, and typing skills.

  • Stand/sit for long periods of time.
  • Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.

  • Determine from which direction a sound came.
  • See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
  • Lift 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects.
