Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the creation, updating, and filing of registration statement post-effective amendments containing prospectuses and statements of additional information (SAIs) (including annual updates and supplements thereto) and other disclosure documents required by the Investment Company Act of 1940 ("1940 Act"), Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
  • Solicits and coordinates input to disclosure documents from business lines (including product, marketing, fund administration, compliance and investment personnel), outside counsel and outside accountants.
  • Provides legal and regulatory support for Columbia Threadneedle Investments’ investment advisory business, including those relating to:
    • the collective investment trusts;
    • compliance with existing and new SEC regulations;
    • various Ameriprise Financial entities and their related products or investments; and
    • corporate governance matters.
  • Works closely with other members of Asset Management Legal in the General Counsel’s Organization, as well as members of the firm’s various lines of business.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree plus paralegal certificate or equivalent experience.
  • One to three years’ relevant experience.
  • Ability to interpret, analyze and apply legal requirements applicable to registered investment companies.
  • Mature, professional demeanor.
  • Strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to successfully manage several ongoing assignments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, writing and problem-solving skills.
  • Dedicated team player.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience supporting an asset management business.

Schedule

Employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations.

Pay

The estimated base salary for this role is $56,100 - $98,600/year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. Most roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives.
