Paraeducator, Weekdays, The Ridge School
About the role
The Ridge School, part of Adventist HealthCare, is seeking a Paraeducator to support students with emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, and other behavioral health impairments. The Paraeducator will assist in academic and social-emotional growth, implement IEP goals, and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
Responsibilities
- Provides individual instruction to assigned student to improve overall school performance
- Supports assigned student during class activities and therapy sessions
- Facilitates progress towards academic and social-emotional goals
- Observes and records data on student behavior in collaboration with the therapeutic team
- Implements accommodations and supports outlined in the student’s IEP
- Implements therapeutic measures as directed by IEP goals
- Attends interdisciplinary team meetings, workshops, and other staff meetings
- Performs other duties as assigned by the teacher when the designated student is absent
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or related field preferred
- Minimum of one year work experience with special needs students (e.g., camp counselor, student care work)
- Familiarity with student and/or adolescent development
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Pay
The starting pay range for this position is $21.55 - $30.63 per hour. Salary discussions will take place during the screening process. The position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Schedule
The Paraeducator works full-time, 40 hours per week, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
