Paraeducator - Title/LAP
About the Role
This is a continuing contract position with an average of 5 hours per day (4 hours as a LAP Paraeducator and 1 hour as a Title I Paraeducator). Daily schedules may vary based on student days.
The position follows the 189-day KAP calendar, with salary annualized and spread through August.
Pay
Hourly salary ranges from $29.43 to $36.18, based on the KAP Salary Schedule. Step placement is determined by verified years of experience in an educational unit.
Requirements
Prior to starting, candidates must meet the minimum employment requirements for paraeducators in the State of Washington through one of the following:
- Associate (AA) degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- 72 college-level credits from an accredited institution.
- A score of 455 or higher on the ETS ParaPro Assessment and proof of high school completion or equivalent.
If you do not yet meet one of these qualifications but are willing to take the ParaPro Assessment, you may still apply. The chosen finalist will have the opportunity to take the test prior to formal hiring.
Post-Hire Requirements
Upon hire, paraeducators must complete state-required training offered through the KSD Professional Development Team.
