Paraeducator - MoCI Classroom

Location: Clare-Gladwin Area School, 4041 E. Mannsiding Rd, Clare MI

Reports to: Classroom Teacher and Principal

Starting date: 2026-2027 school year (August 2026)

Schedule

• School-year position following the district calendar
• Monday – Friday
• 6.75 hours per day

Pay

• According to the MEA Contract
• Starting wage: $14.37 per hour or higher, based on actual years of experience

About the Role

The Paraeducator is responsible for assisting teachers, itinerant staff, and others in the support of instructional, health-related, recreation, and/or pre-vocational job-training activities. The Paraeducator may be assigned to one classroom or to a variety of assignments depending on the needs of the students.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required
• Work experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
• Working knowledge of training techniques, behavior modification, and task analysis
• Interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate with students, parents, community, and peers
• Ability to understand and work with children of all ages
• Must demonstrate cooperative and effective communication skills, both oral and written, and apply active listening skills
