Paraeducator-Independence Facilitator - 7 hrs/day (Westside)

About the role

Provides individual behavior intervention and medical support to students in classroom settings, assists individuals or small groups of students to enhance learning, and assists teachers with instruction and classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Supports students in individual and small group settings to improve academic outcomes.
• Assists in classroom management and instruction in both special education and general education environments.
• Participates in lunchroom and playfield activities to ensure student safety and engagement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Completion of at least 48 college credit units may substitute for the competency assessment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Compliance with District skill/competency requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies.
• Ability to provide medical support as needed.
• Experience with classroom management techniques.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer literacy.

Pay

$21.24 - $28.08 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on relevant experience.
