About the Role

Paraeducator I at Pat Butler Elementary (PCN #230075) supports a certificated teacher by reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students, assisting in the preparation of instructional materials, and providing routine clerical support. This position focuses on reading intervention support. Duties will align with demonstrated ability, training, education, and experience.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• High School Graduation or equivalent (required).
• Must meet one of the following:
  • 48 semester college units (transcripts required).
  • Pass the District Paraeducator Exam (given every Thursday at 1 p.m. at the PRJUSD District Office).
  • Certificate of Proficiency for Instructional Aides (NCLB certificate).
  • College Associate’s degree or higher.
• Knowledge of the general needs and behavior of children.
• Experience working in an educational setting (desired).

Pay

Classified Salary Schedule #3, Range 16: $19.09 – $25.59 per hour.

Schedule

Part-time, 5 hours per day / 10 months per year / 193 days.
