Functional Applied Academics (FAA)
The academic emphasis for students supported in FAA is on academic skills that will contribute to their independence in work, recreation, and living after graduation.
Responsibilities
- Provide academic accommodations as needed
- Offer social emotional or physical support based on individual student needs
- Support students with toileting needs, which may be common with younger students
Requirements
- Pass a background check
- Have a current TB test
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Complete 48 college credits OR have an associate's degree OR pass a state-approved assessment
- Be a strong team player
- Possess basic computer and math skills
- Enjoy a fast-paced environment
- Be able to spend 80% of the day standing and 20% walking
- Maintain regular and acceptable attendance/punctuality
Qualifications
- Must enjoy a fast pace environment
- Time is spent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using finger dexterity
Skills
- Strong team player
- Basic computer and math skills

Schedule
Work when students are in session along with a couple of additional days. Enjoy holidays off including a week at Thanksgiving, two weeks around Christmas, and Spring Break.
