About the role

The Paraeducator position supports students in the Extended Resource Program (ERP) who have mild to moderate delays in general intellectual functioning, existing concurrently with deficits in adaptive behavior. Responsibilities include providing support and assistance to students during class and extracurricular activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support students with learning and behavioral needs
  • Assist teachers with classroom management and instructional support
  • Provide transportation services for students as needed
  • Participate in professional development opportunities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license
  • Experience working with children and/or individuals with special needs preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Pass a background check and drug screening

Skills

  • Knowledge of special education principles and practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Pay

$16.00 per hour, 6.5 hours per day, 195 days per year
