Paraeducator (Anticipated)
Position Overview
Provides instructional, behavioral, and personal support to K12 students under the direction of a licensed teacher, helping create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that promotes student success.
Typical Duties And Responsibilities
- Aid teachers in implementing lesson plans and providing individualized or small-group instruction to support student learning.
- Support students with academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs while promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor student progress, reinforce classroom expectations, and help maintain a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment.
- Assist students with daily living activities, mobility, and personal care as needed, following district policies and individual student plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to support student success while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Minimum Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher, completion of at least 60 college credits, or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.
Preferred Requirements
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
